A multi-disciplinary team of experts

Our team has a multi-disciplinary expertise, know-how and experience, covering a wide spectrum of knowledge of emerging technologies, towards effective and accurate environmental monitoring and modelling, aiming to capture the complexity of the real world. Our team has research interest and expertise in large-scale earth observations via satellite imagery (Chirag) and aerial photography (Noor), using embedded computing and field sensors as ground truth data (Noor and Chirag), employing principles of the Internet and Web of Things (Andreas), plus computer vision via deep learning for classification and prediction (Savvas, Antria and Jyoti), as well as geospatial analysis afterwards (Antria, Chirag and Noor) for modelling and problem solving, towards more informed policy-making. Our team structure based on know-how is depicted below.

Our team addresses a wide range of problems in the aforementioned disciplines, with a general focus on large-scale earth observation and sensing towards advanced environmental understanding, modeling of complex environments and more informed policy-making.
